I came to US as an internation student from 2005. Now I am getting married with my husband who has a permanent green card. We are living in California. However, we have a plan to have a baby but we are low income and I do not have a social security number. Can we apply for the medicare for our baby? And how can we start to do that?

I am 78 and have never used my Medicare. I receive a free supplement as long as I pay Medicare Part B from my previous employer. I have always used the Veterans Administration for my medical treatments and prescriptions and very pleased with their service. I could certainly use the 00 a year for other things. Now the government is going to raise my Medicare premiums again.

I have two mutual funds that hold some foreign equity. I am assuming there are foreign taxes that will be paid related to these. Will I be able to get a foreign tax credit for the taxes paid? What if these are held in a Roth IRA?
If the funds are in a Roth, would I be able to apply a FTC if I have taxable passive income from other sources, or still no?

What i mean is if there is an unknown annuity and people come to look for me, is it usually because theres a lot of money involved or will they try to find Me for small change?

I found a site on line discover bank. It shows if I keep my money in a IRA CD for 12 Months I will get a 1.34% interest rate and a 1.35% APY.

What does that mean? If I put 2,500 dollars in this IRA CD for 12 months how much will I make? Are there any fees or hidden fees beside early withdraw?

I just want to get my money out of a saving account. All I get keeping it there is 38 cent every three months. But, I don’t want to tie up my money for more then a year to two just in case I need it.

I just got married (Sep 06) I know I must file married sep or married jointly. I know married jointly is better (obviously)

Here are the issues

My Wife goes to school full time (has no job) She received all her money from her parents on a monthy basis. (she pays half of all rent/mortgage and utilities with that money) Her parents give her about 1400 a month

I am out of college have my own career etc. How should I file my taxes? and why?

I made 60000 this year. I have a base of 30 + Commission. (commission is taxed at 40% during the year and I claim 0 for taxes (they take the most out of my taxes all year))

We have no kids etc. I also have a lease for a car and drive a lot on appointments.

We just bought a house but it will not be counted for 2006. (it will be finished april 2007)

Any help would be appreciated on this. How should I approach this. Can I claim her? Should I file joint?
