Agreed he has not been in good form and has probably lost all respect and trust of his team-mates after the release of his book but still this guy has been the pillar of South Africa’s tremendous success, scoring at a blitz rate and giving the side the cyclonic start in pressure games (vs Australia 438) when required. A brilliant fielder at point, a gutsy batsman…don’t you think RSA should have given this man another chance so as to bring in the experience of this class player. I agree there’s not enough time to settle the differences between Smith, Kallis, De Villiers, Boucher and Gibbs but Gibbs wanted to continue till the World Cup. Shouldn’t the former players needed to step-in and help alleviate the situation in the interest of South Africa?
Your thoughts please?
I’m looking to purchase property in Central America and have a few dollars in a rollover distribution I was thinking of utilizing for the acquisition.
If, I withdraw my retirement money early I am charged a certain percent to withdraw it. Then, I am taxed again when I have to claim the money on my end of year taxes, 1040 form.

is becoming the most unbearable. It’s serious to the point of, I feel like crying sometimes when I wake up in the morning to go to work. I always condition my mind to think Mind over Matter… but so far it’s not working very well. What can I do to stay for another year and keep my sanity at the same time. Any tips?
Serious answers only please. Thanks.
My job is very stressful, I can’t even imagine how I was able to spend 9 years there. Deadlines everyday, too many gods to appease.
I leave for boot camp next week but Im sort of getting ahead f myslef planning out my future before I even graduate. Im curious as to how hard it is to stay in the Navy for 20 years. Im 19 now and if I was to serve for 20 years Id be able to retire with a pension by the age of 40 which sounds pretty awesome. I dropped out of CSUN just to join the Navy because the benefits are great and I want to be a part of something bigger while travelling around the world repping my country, I only have 21 college credits and Im trying to make the most out of my time in the Navy. How many college creds do I need to get promoted to E2 faster? I got a 5 year HM contract but I got no enlistment bonus like my friends. Is it possible to get the 100 college units I need to get a BS to become an officer? I know Im getting ahead of myself and I might come off greedy but Im ambitous and I want to outdo my sister who puts me to shame academically. I understand that my priority in the Navy is to support and defend the constitution and democracy (I have everything in the Recruit’s book memorized because Im serious about making a name for myself in the Navy). Also, if I transfer to the Air Force after my 5 year contract ends will I go back to the first rating? Thanks in advance.
So, I want to stay out another two weeks. I’m still in pain and know have knee pain-could have been from limping but it could be more…Should I have my dr. right me out for an addition 2 wks or let the orthopedic surgeon? Don’t want to go back to the office-but must clean out my desk! (can do that on a weekend, right? Or is that a problem since I’m out on disability?
I’m 15 and I am hoping to get into this 6 week program that pays 9 at the end of the program. I am going to put half into investments and then split the rest into another half and put some in my checking account and savings account. I hope to get a part time job during the school year so I can open up a Roth IRA account. My uncle told me that I would probably be working for the next 60 years of my like and I was like wtf (in my head). So I was reading and a Roth IRA account seems to be the way to go because I can take some of the money out to help buy my first home and a car. i just want to make sure that I am well diversified and that my money is working for me to the best of its abilities. Also I already am trying to invest in assets rather than liabilities=]
It is kind of a sad deal but I can do it! Until I do land my next job, is it legal to ask for food samps? I am not a big eater also (became a proud vegan this year!) but I need some help soon. Does anyone know how it works? Thanks so much, angels of the internet.
To the guy who is 65% water, YES there are angels on the internet!! The word angel means "messenger of God" and it goes on and on with positive definitions in Webster’s New World Dictionary, Second College Edition. The dictionary is addictive in a wonderful way. Thank you for your help with the food stamp issue. I almost never eat (am a vegan) and still I am voluptuous! Go Figure. I won’t need food stamps for a long, long time (I hope!)
Family obligations prevented my investing as I’d wanted into Europe; I am still in process of recovering from shock as regards the economic downtowns here in this year; so please be kind … (smile) frustrated wanna-be-expatriate is me — so now at the "worst time" is my time of opportunity to leave — the down side is my anticipated monthly income is a MERE two thousand, plus a few dollars perhaps, but at least 2,000. I live VERY simply, yet need to recreat a ‘bohemian’ sort of life. I need to house myself & Chihahua, be near a beach as I’ve been my whole life, and access acupuncture to maintain health; at 52 my only needs for western medicine include a high blood pressure pill. Any thoughts and suggestions are appreciated. I have little grasp of all 3 languages, about equal, but have always felt more natural in europe than here in usa — please please help with advices. I am aiming to make the move between Dec. 08 and March 09. All thoughts appreciated.
Having not put a consistent amount into social security throughout my life ( primarily tons of unreported music jobs ) my benefit will be quite low if I make a claim now ,at 62.. I’m not asking whether it will be more if I wait to 66/70. I know all about this. My Q is do any of you regret having done this now, seeing how it’s permanent ? Don’t forget, if you/we had waited to 65/66 we will have LOST the proceeds ($ from 62-65) which you can thus subtract from your later claim at ,say 65, having NOT received it. And so later claim is essentially less than it really is. Same situation if you/we hold off to 70. I.E. We lose all the $ from 62 to 70, again diminishing grand total at (sorry)death than it appears. Do I make sense ? I think most people are not aware of this aspect..10-4 ? P.S. I heard you CAN ,if you pay back all you HAVE received, plus interest, re-start claim at the later ages ( 65/66/70).
I know several that work just for the health insurance.
Could some one point me in the direction of legislation or other information that answers this question:
If an employee retires at 62, is he/she eligible for 18 or 36 months of COBRA coverage?
I’m not sure how that works with Medicare kicking in at 65. Thank you for any thoughts. 10 points to best answer.
Thanks James. I read that info from the DOL website too. I’m still not quite sure what this statment means – "Certain qualifying events, or a second qualifying event during the initial period of coverage, may permit a beneficiary to receive a maximum of 36 months of coverage."
What would be considered a second qualifying event, and would it be applicable in my example?
