Have a friend that wants to divorce her partner, but she is afraid that her retirement account would be divided in the divorce settlement. Is this legal in California?

1. ban on activities that get elderly residents out and interacting with other residents and staff
2. Forcing elderly residents to remain in their rooms all day.
3. Locking down the facility and not allowing anyone from the outside world to come and visit or take their relative out for the day.
4. Basically the residents of these facilities are being treated like prisoners even though they are paying to be there whenever one of these facilities is quarantined due to an outbreak of some sort of virus.

But even if the person doesn’t catch the virus can they still have their health put in dangerous by this sort of restrictive living and loss of freedom and independence/forced isolation?

This happened at the place where my grandmother lives due to a stomach virus that’s been going around and according to several relatives it seems like she is beginning to mentally lose it. This has gone on for over a week now and was supposed to end last Wednesday however people still keep getting sick and the restrictions have yet to be lifted.

Next month I’m presenting a presentation to a retirement community about how awesome Skype is for keeping in touch with their distant (sometimes great-)grandchildren. I’m trying to work off some community service (karmic, not legal) by donating my time and knowledge to local seniors on the use of Skype in particular.
The problem I’m facing is that I’m on slide 8 and I don’t know how, or if I should, continue. Slide 1 is the splash "What is Skype?" page, 2 is a list of free services, 3 is paid services (and within the accompanying speech I intend to emphasize that these are business oriented, and that the free services are truly robust, and will not leave them wanting, and slides 4-6 are screen caps to demonstrate clarity of the video. Slide 7 is a sample screen recording from a wicked cute me, mom, and my daughter call, and slide 8 is going to be a "And one more thing…" and do a live call at that moment.
I’m trying to get an idea of what kinds of questions seniors might have so I can be best prepared to address them, what fears I should expect (in their shoes I would assume that I was trying to grift them somehow), and generally any other notes.

Our country’s seniors are NOT afforded the respect they once were, and as a 28 year old I find it infuriating. My goal is to help them use the tools that people in my age range take for granted, because I have the patience to explain (literally) 14 times in a row how to copy pictures onto The Drive Thing.

If anybody can help me with any suggestions on what kind of questions I should prepare for, or really any other input at all that would be super.

And I totally promise that I will give a best answer within a reasonable amount of time (I don’t wanna close it too early, but you’ll get credit). Thanks a lot, all!
Edit 1: Thanks for the support! The presentation is how the business wants to get it started; we show the residents what it is, what they can do with it, do a q&a, etc, and kind of go from there. They want to be sure that it’s something worth investing time and energy into, and interested residents would have to sign up for certain blocks of time and so on.
I’m just hoping that y’all might know somebody who had trouble getting to know Skype and could help me out with THIR questions, or pointers on the slide show; this is my first Keynote presentation since one on PUNK ROCK AND SKINHEADS in high school, so although my concept is good, I was hoping that from what I described somebody more into presentation design theory or whatever could give me some pointers.
Edit 2: Larry, you know that just cos you *can* write stuff doesn’t mean you *should*. The site it called "Yahoo! Answers," not "Yahoo! I’m A Grumpy Old POS Who Is So Stupid I Think That 1/3 of a Page of Text Is Too Much To Be Bothered To Read."

My parents are nearing retirement age and are looking to buy a mobile home. They are interested in the Atlanta area and would like to find a safe and reasonably price mobile home community. I’ve looked up information on the area and notice most people seem to like the suburbs in the north part of Atlanta. Can anyone recommend a good community/park?

We have met with a Fidelity financial adviser and also with an adviser from TD Ameritrade. We are both thoroughly confused and aren’t sure which to go with. My father is 80 years old and doesn’t have the time to watch his money grow, he needs it to pay for the nearly 00.00 a month retirement community. We are worried that with time he may have a decline in health and want to make sure we do whats best so he can live independently as long as possible. If anyone has any knowledge of what to do, please let us know. He will be investing around 200-250,000.

In what ways has resort design (like Disney World, fine resort hotels, spas) influenced the design and management of health care environments today, such as continuing care retirement communities, assisted living facilities, wellness facilities, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, etc.?

My mom and stepfather are selling the family duplex. They live on one side of the house. I live on the other side of the house. I pay them a family discounted monthly rent, but I pay for expenses for half of a house including; oil heat, gas, electric, landline phone, cable TV and internet.
My working status is such that I left my full time job four years ago and I have been surviving on working on call as a sales associate in a department store. I have been living off of those wages, plus unemployment, and withdrawals from my IRA.
Between what I have in my IRA account, my working income, and money I would get from the sale of the family home (I am an only child), I would have enough money to afford renting an apartment.
The only trouble is that when I go to complete a rental application, I am not working full time at my present employer. If I cannot find a landlord who will accept my application I may be out on the street if the family home is sold.
My parents have already lined up a place for themselves to live. Unfortunately, it is not a place where I can join them. They are moving to a 2 bedroom apartment that is within a retirement community. Residents must be 58 years of age or older to live there. I am now 49.
My mother assures me that it would be no problem if I move in with her and my stepfather and suggested that I take the spare bedroom.
My mother asked the on site agent "is it okay if I have visitors stay with us on the weekends?" What she failed to specify was that she wanted to know specifically if her 49 year old son could move in as a permanent resident there. And this is where I get caught up in the madness of my mother’s "little white lies."
I am not to discuss my living there with anyone. She wants to take possession of my car, register my car in her name so if anyone looks into that the car will be owned and registered by her. She wants me to use a PO Box for my address, including on my driver’s license. My permanent legal address will be this PO Box.
I have talked with another family member and a couple of friends. It seems like the only way I could live with my parents in a retirement community would be if I complete paperwork and I am approved to be their legal caretaker.
I suggested this to my stepfather and he threw his hands in the air and shook his head.
Both of my parents seem very afraid that I make any formal admission in writing that I am living with them permanently. Their suggestions seem to be that I quietly move in with them, do not answer any questions, find creative ways to weasel out of admitting to where I am sleeping every night, and hope that I don’t get caught.
When we originally discussed selling the house, I assumed that my parents would move into a regular one or two bedroom apartment. But this is a residence limited to retired persons of which I am not.
Can I live with my parents in their retirement community apartment?
