I very well may have found my niche – the only thing is, I’m 35 years old (ha-ha). I would like to teach music, but I would also like to make it a career that will last for years to come (at least 40). But I now need to start taking classes to work towards that goal, and may not finish until I’m 40 or even 45 (which would then put my desired retirement age way up there). Any and all advice and suggestions are welcome, thanks.

We want to retire to Florida, but we want to buy our place now and then move there in a few years, perhaps renting out the home or condo until then. Neither of us is 55 yet, but we keep seeing these great deals in retirement communities. I’m wondering what the rules about that are?

if a person at age 65 wants to retire but doesn’t have enough saved up for their house or whatever… is there places they can go such as retirement communities or whatever where they can live off of their social security alone?

I was thinking about the Nelson area, prices seem better than around Kelowna. I do like to be near affordible golf areas and keep my wife happy with good shopping and health care facilities. I would prefer areas like Peachland but I like gated communities. I can’t seem to find anything so far. We want a good view, close to skiing and golf but minimal shovelling. Please let me know what you are thinking or suggesting.

I am looking for a movie title of a movie that was based in a Miami retirement community… don’t know much about it. I think it is 80s or 90s??? It is supposed to be funny. Remember one scene where the old man dates a lady from on-line-date who turns out to be a hooker. Don;t know any of the actors.. just want to rent it.. need the name..???

I am only 38 and I like the idea of living in a retirement community. Over 55 places.
This is not to say that people over 55 do not have fun but I do not want to live around screaming babys or little kids running around the place ground at all hours of the day and night..
I want a nice peaceful place ..
A mobil home park near the ocean or something like that.
Can I.,.? Or do I have to wait till I am 55..?

I just love old folks, and would like to spend some time with them, as it would hopefully benefit both of us. Them from me helping and talking, and me from listening and seeing them smile. I don’t really want to be in a hospital setting, and retirement communities have their own personnel. Seems that only leaves healthy old folks, who probably don’t really need any help. Any suggestion?
thanks everyone.
detective, you are right. I was looking more for an ideal situation for myself, and should be volunteering when they need it most. Thanks for your wisdom.

I would like to know what are the laws for retirement communities (i.e., Country Meadows) in Pennsylvania?
How many caregivers should be assigned to each resident?
