Does anyone know how long it takes for my rollover investment for my ira take to clear?

I withdrew some money from my ira but then decided that I didn’t need, so I sent it back to them and endorsed the checks as a rollover. Now that I do need it, I can’t seem to be able to take the money out through the american funds website. Someone told me that it takes some time for those checks to clear and then I can take the money out, is this true?

It shouldn’t take too long. If it was an offical bank check, just a few days. If it was a personal check, then up to to business days as allowed by law. It sound like you got the check and sen the same check back to them. All they have to do is void that check and the transaction in your account to put the funds back. It depends upon how they handle what you sent them. I’d call and ask them. Be clear about what it was you sent them.
