How can I get an icrease of my monthly social security payment?

I currently live at home, so I receive the minumum amount from social security disability. I plan to move out soon, but this is very difficult, I need the security deposit, and enough to live comfortably (groceries, utilities, etc.) Currently SS disability payment will not do the job. I’m pretty sure SS monthly payments increase if I live independenly, does anyone know how I can increase SS benefits? I can’t find the answer!!!

You can’t. It’s based on lifetime earnings or other factors.
Social Security disability payments are not based on your living situation, they are based on your income. If you are not working now, your payments will not increase. Moving out will only increase your bills and won’t increase your income.
In other words, if you were set to get $1000 per month for total disability…you will get the full $1000 regardless of your living situation and would ONLY have it reduced if you are working or receiving income…so if you had, let’s say, a part-time job, you might get $600 a month instead of the $1000.
I would try the Department of Social Services..you can receive additional benefits without harming your current payments such as cash, food stamps, etc.
The reason many people find that they cannot live on SS payments is the system was designed to be a supplementary income…not a sole source of income. That’s hard when you are disabled at a young age.

No, you can not get more money, just because you need it.
Your S.S. payment is based on a set level, It is only increased occasionally for cost of living increases. You will have to learn to live on what you get, get a job, or see if there are any other programs available to you due to your disability. Possibly you would qualify for Section 8, which is for low income people. that pays for a portion of their rent by vouchers to the landlord.
