i found an egg in a nest out in the cold on my driveway. its white with little black dots.what type of egg bird or snake? if so what kind? and is it alive?
I discovered this morning as i was coming home from school there was a birds nest by my front door because i must have frightened the bird when i walked by and it flew away. i jumped up to see if there was an egg and there was (without getting human scent on it). I would give anything for the egg to live but 1. my brother wants to knock it down 2. I’m afraid i scared the mother away by walking by and 3. whenever somebody walks out the front door it might disturb the nest. WHAT AM I TO DO!?!?! i cant touch it, it cant get human scent on it!
If a hen is going to lay fertile eggs does she go to her nest and stay there until her number of eggs are reached. In other words once she lays eggs for hatching, is she there from 1st to the last egg? How do I know when to leave the eggs alone for hatching….and yes I do have the rooster. She will lay a number of eggs on the same nest but does’nt stay on the eggs. The name of the breed is a Grey.
These ducks have been hanging around the house for the past week. This morning, we awoke to find the two ducks sleeping on the driveway with an egg. We want to move them to a safe place, but don’t know where to move them. Do we build them a nest, or hide the egg in a bush, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My lovebirds got this mini house made of wood, then i noticed there was an egg. Should I do anything to the egg, like provide a nest or something. I really cant put nest inside the minihouse, because the hole is too small, and i cant transfer egg, since both male and female is on guard. Should i do anything at all
Ok so I have a pair of budgies in an aviery nesting, both the hen and the cock bird are about 2 years old and there is no rivalry between hens over the nest boxes as there is only 1 other pair in there and they are settled in there own nest. She has been mating and staying in the nest box almost all the time for the last 2 weeks and this morning I found that she has laid her 1st egg but she must have laid it off a purch because it was cracked on the avery floor. Why did she do this? and will she lay all her eggs out of the nest?
There are heaps of nest boxes in the avery. Also this is the 1st time she has been bred so she may not know what to do?
I have a male and a female cockatiel and the female laid an egg yesterday, but she does not have a nest so she laid it on the floor of the cage. i put blankets over the cage to help keep the egg warm…. what else can/should i do?
and today i have not seen her on the egg at all
I’ve got two Killdeer who have a nest outside my home in the front yard. For the first two weeks nothing has even come close to the nest that had 4 eggs. I placed a bird bath in the yard ad they take advantage f that. I even placed seed nearby and it was days before they would try that, but they did and they liked it. Even during a major thunderstorm, the male never once gt off the nest and endured. I was so amazed and fell head over heels in love with them. Three nights ago, two cats kept coming into the yard and al the way up to the nest. I chased them away several times. Then two night ago, I guess they came and stole two of the four eggs. Now last night they got one more. The Killdeer are frantic and Im so heart sick. I can’t let it end this way. What can I do to help save the one remaining egg? Please!
I’m so sorry guys. While trying to figure out how to save the last egg from the cat, I witnessed a small group of crows snatching the egg while the killdeer looked on helplessly. I should have known to stay outside with them longer. I should have been able to tell dange was still near because they were still so agitated. I feel so responsible.

I have just found a blue jay egg (actually it was my neighbor) and i NEED to know how to take care of it! My neighbor touched it and the mom won’t take it back! I DON’T WANT THE BABY TO DIE !!!!! How can I take care of it????? Do you know of any websites??? PLEASE HELP!!!!
I believe the bird is a tropical/island bird. It is all white and lays a single egg on a branch and maintains a balancing act until the chick hatches.

In class the other day, my professor talked about a kind of bird that builds nests on the ground and therefore must roll its eggs back into the nest if they roll out. However, this bird will indiscriminately roll anything egg shaped into its nest, like rocks. Do you know what type of bird this is?
The only supplies I can use are a piece of construction paper and tape. The egg will be dropped from 8 ft. I was thinking of making a crumpled up type nest to lay the egg in and just tape the egg down.
