First define what you consider the wealthy, then provide a percentage that you would tax their income to eliminate our recent deficits. Be specific and provide analysis that shows taxing the wealthy can eliminate the deficit without affecting job growth or tax revenue. Is it possible to tax the wealthy enough to cover your deficits?

I recently received my social security number, (about 2 months ago) I then applied for employment I quickly was offered a job. After the employer did the background check I received a letter saying that they were unable to offer me the employment. The report stated that my ssn has never been issued, and it was unable to be validated. What can i do to get this problem fixed so it wont cause this with future employers? Thank you for you time.

Seems to me that PMI is very costly for the home owner, especially me with a perfect credit rating and new funding source to maintain a mortgage if I lose my job (my job is very secure). Please any suggestions on how to get the PMI waived by the mortgage company.

So i have calculated my new health care cost via obama’s latest speech …
I currently pay (with my employer) about 00 a year for my family plan. If it is reduced by 3000% percent ( i get a refund of almost 0,000) per year, how many years before i can retire?
scott b – why be so demeaning of a job at McDonald’s? It is insensitive to those who are out of work and would gladly jump at the paycheck right now .. peace

This is yet another post I am making about one of my favorite topics, investing. We know that a traditional IRA is tax deferred yet will have taxes paid on it during retirement. A Roth IRA grows tax free and has tax free withdrawals pending certain conditions met. But why a traditional? There are some that argue that taxes are going up, which is probably true. Personally, I like both types of IRAs. With a Roth, you pay current income tax on contributions that have not even made any earnings yet. That alone will tend me to favor tax deferred traditional. A traditional IRA will earn more over time with the power of compounding without the hassles of annual taxes hitting it. Like I said before, why not get a low low paying job after you leave your main job so that you are now in a lower tax bracket? Instead of maybe 25% tax on withdrawals, now you will only pay 10-15%. See the difference? All that money has grown without annual taxes. Now pay as little as possible on earnings.
See what I mean? Why pay 25%(more or a little less) now on contributions that haven’t made any earnings instead of say, 10-15% later on while you are in a lower tax bracket? Makes sense to me. Don’t be so quick to run a Roth. If possible, contribute to a 401 k, 403b and so on and possibly a Roth IRA to be diversified. Like I said, I like both. I just tend to be biased towards tax deferred. I would rather pay taxes on what I’ve made. You wouldn’t pay income tax at your job before you’ve earned any money, would you? This is basically for those who don’t have an employer sponsored retirement program.

I have never had a job. I am self-employed with ample cashflow to make mortgage payments, but no bank I have asked will let me take out a mortgage without two years of tax returns.
Correct – I don’t read / watch the news.
I wouldn’t be so daft as to speculate. I’m joining forces with someone who has been in the industry for years – one who has successfully (and consistently) flipped houses in today’s market.
Let’s stay on topic.

is becoming the most unbearable. It’s serious to the point of, I feel like crying sometimes when I wake up in the morning to go to work. I always condition my mind to think Mind over Matter… but so far it’s not working very well. What can I do to stay for another year and keep my sanity at the same time. Any tips?
Serious answers only please. Thanks.
My job is very stressful, I can’t even imagine how I was able to spend 9 years there. Deadlines everyday, too many gods to appease.

Would they have pensions, Social Security, and Medicare?
Would they be able to survive being retired without a job and no source of income?
Or would the for-profit private companies take care of seniors, despite having no profit motive to do so?

It is kind of a sad deal but I can do it! Until I do land my next job, is it legal to ask for food samps? I am not a big eater also (became a proud vegan this year!) but I need some help soon. Does anyone know how it works? Thanks so much, angels of the internet.
To the guy who is 65% water, YES there are angels on the internet!! The word angel means "messenger of God" and it goes on and on with positive definitions in Webster’s New World Dictionary, Second College Edition. The dictionary is addictive in a wonderful way. Thank you for your help with the food stamp issue. I almost never eat (am a vegan) and still I am voluptuous! Go Figure. I won’t need food stamps for a long, long time (I hope!)

I am taking a job, who is providing me with money towards the negative equity and also closing costs and realtor costs. Should’t I just have to cover my 1/2 of the negative equity and she pay the rest?

I’m considering a job there and would like to know more. Oh course, the people who want me to work there will say its a great oppurtunity.
Anyone else work for them? Know anyone who does?
I’m supposed to go to another interview tonight. I will keep an open mind and will decide if its best for me.
I still would like more opinoins and experiences with Primerica.

We have already been told that generations X and Y won`t be as healthy as their parents so why raise the retirement age when it should be lowered to shrink the worker pool. Leave Social Security alone and stop borrowing from it. Social Security will be fine once the baby boomers move on. The last thing the youth needs is a bigger worker pool and the lower wages that comes with more job competition due to a bigger worker pool. Raising the retirement age is a attack on good wages.

I just quit my job and I’ve got some money in a 401k plan. It’s under 500 dollars and with that I want to open up an IRA. Do I open a Roth or a traditional IRA? I’m 21 years old.
Also, where is a good place to open it. Chase, Bank of America?
