Next month I’m presenting a presentation to a retirement community about how awesome Skype is for keeping in touch with their distant (sometimes great-)grandchildren. I’m trying to work off some community service (karmic, not legal) by donating my time and knowledge to local seniors on the use of Skype in particular.
The problem I’m facing is that I’m on slide 8 and I don’t know how, or if I should, continue. Slide 1 is the splash "What is Skype?" page, 2 is a list of free services, 3 is paid services (and within the accompanying speech I intend to emphasize that these are business oriented, and that the free services are truly robust, and will not leave them wanting, and slides 4-6 are screen caps to demonstrate clarity of the video. Slide 7 is a sample screen recording from a wicked cute me, mom, and my daughter call, and slide 8 is going to be a "And one more thing…" and do a live call at that moment.
I’m trying to get an idea of what kinds of questions seniors might have so I can be best prepared to address them, what fears I should expect (in their shoes I would assume that I was trying to grift them somehow), and generally any other notes.

Our country’s seniors are NOT afforded the respect they once were, and as a 28 year old I find it infuriating. My goal is to help them use the tools that people in my age range take for granted, because I have the patience to explain (literally) 14 times in a row how to copy pictures onto The Drive Thing.

If anybody can help me with any suggestions on what kind of questions I should prepare for, or really any other input at all that would be super.

And I totally promise that I will give a best answer within a reasonable amount of time (I don’t wanna close it too early, but you’ll get credit). Thanks a lot, all!
Edit 1: Thanks for the support! The presentation is how the business wants to get it started; we show the residents what it is, what they can do with it, do a q&a, etc, and kind of go from there. They want to be sure that it’s something worth investing time and energy into, and interested residents would have to sign up for certain blocks of time and so on.
I’m just hoping that y’all might know somebody who had trouble getting to know Skype and could help me out with THIR questions, or pointers on the slide show; this is my first Keynote presentation since one on PUNK ROCK AND SKINHEADS in high school, so although my concept is good, I was hoping that from what I described somebody more into presentation design theory or whatever could give me some pointers.
Edit 2: Larry, you know that just cos you *can* write stuff doesn’t mean you *should*. The site it called "Yahoo! Answers," not "Yahoo! I’m A Grumpy Old POS Who Is So Stupid I Think That 1/3 of a Page of Text Is Too Much To Be Bothered To Read."

My mom and stepfather are selling the family duplex. They live on one side of the house. I live on the other side of the house. I pay them a family discounted monthly rent, but I pay for expenses for half of a house including; oil heat, gas, electric, landline phone, cable TV and internet.
My working status is such that I left my full time job four years ago and I have been surviving on working on call as a sales associate in a department store. I have been living off of those wages, plus unemployment, and withdrawals from my IRA.
Between what I have in my IRA account, my working income, and money I would get from the sale of the family home (I am an only child), I would have enough money to afford renting an apartment.
The only trouble is that when I go to complete a rental application, I am not working full time at my present employer. If I cannot find a landlord who will accept my application I may be out on the street if the family home is sold.
My parents have already lined up a place for themselves to live. Unfortunately, it is not a place where I can join them. They are moving to a 2 bedroom apartment that is within a retirement community. Residents must be 58 years of age or older to live there. I am now 49.
My mother assures me that it would be no problem if I move in with her and my stepfather and suggested that I take the spare bedroom.
My mother asked the on site agent "is it okay if I have visitors stay with us on the weekends?" What she failed to specify was that she wanted to know specifically if her 49 year old son could move in as a permanent resident there. And this is where I get caught up in the madness of my mother’s "little white lies."
I am not to discuss my living there with anyone. She wants to take possession of my car, register my car in her name so if anyone looks into that the car will be owned and registered by her. She wants me to use a PO Box for my address, including on my driver’s license. My permanent legal address will be this PO Box.
I have talked with another family member and a couple of friends. It seems like the only way I could live with my parents in a retirement community would be if I complete paperwork and I am approved to be their legal caretaker.
I suggested this to my stepfather and he threw his hands in the air and shook his head.
Both of my parents seem very afraid that I make any formal admission in writing that I am living with them permanently. Their suggestions seem to be that I quietly move in with them, do not answer any questions, find creative ways to weasel out of admitting to where I am sleeping every night, and hope that I don’t get caught.
When we originally discussed selling the house, I assumed that my parents would move into a regular one or two bedroom apartment. But this is a residence limited to retired persons of which I am not.
Can I live with my parents in their retirement community apartment?

1) Meeting and planning with existing clients?

2) Cold calling or networking for new clients?

3) Executing trades online?

4) Planning investing strategies for specific clients?

5) Filling out tax forms and other dull paperwork?

6) Catching up on the latest revisions to tax rules, etc.?

Please let me know what you spend the MOST time doing. I’m considering becoming a CFP, but I’m not a very procedure-oriented person. I enjoy exploring strategies for clients, and meeting with clients, but I’m not much of a "fill out papers all day" kind of guys.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Family obligations prevented my investing as I’d wanted into Europe; I am still in process of recovering from shock as regards the economic downtowns here in this year; so please be kind … (smile) frustrated wanna-be-expatriate is me — so now at the "worst time" is my time of opportunity to leave — the down side is my anticipated monthly income is a MERE two thousand, plus a few dollars perhaps, but at least 2,000. I live VERY simply, yet need to recreat a ‘bohemian’ sort of life. I need to house myself & Chihahua, be near a beach as I’ve been my whole life, and access acupuncture to maintain health; at 52 my only needs for western medicine include a high blood pressure pill. Any thoughts and suggestions are appreciated. I have little grasp of all 3 languages, about equal, but have always felt more natural in europe than here in usa — please please help with advices. I am aiming to make the move between Dec. 08 and March 09. All thoughts appreciated.

the government saying ‘pay us what we ask for and we will give you the coverage we deem appropriate?" Are there specific contract rights with respect to Social Security and Medicare? Are the rights assets of the individual, which can be borrowed against or left to loved ones?

Government regulations control private insurance and retirement plans. Who oversees the government plans?

had nothing to with? If so should LIVING Africans in the USA pay for all the havoc they are doing NOW? Nobody I know had anything to with slavery but just ask any black if they have a "loved one" in prison for a crime against a White. Not a "rant", but if you want to hold people responsible what their G-G-G-G-Grandfather MAY have done 200 years ago, hold the LIVING black relatives of what their brother, uncle, father are doing NOW.

John 7:37-38 (ESV)

"On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, "Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."

Elaboration?

MOM WANTS REVERSE MORTGAGE…?

In 2007, my mother refinanced the house & she included me to the mortgage as a co-borrower. I also signed a paper that included me in the deed of the house. A few days ago, I talked to her about getting my own place bcoz mom & wife don’t get along with each other. She brought up that she is going to have a reverse mortgage after we move out so that I will not going to pay for 2mortgage (old & new house). It’s not that I’m against her, nor I’m interested in the property or the money. My only concern is the "will be effect" on my name since I’m on the loan & deed as well. If possible, I don’t want to have any problem later on especially now that I’m having my own family. I’m not familiar with this mortgage. Sometimes, it’s easy to say things that you do this & that without realizing the effect afterwards. My questions are:

1) I’m thinking of taking out my name to the loan & the deed as well, before mom do the reverse mortgage. But, I can’t refinance bcoz the house don’t have equity, & even I refinance or loan modification, without my name included, mom cannot qualify bcoz she is not financially stable. The house mortgage is 0,000; present loan amount of 2,000; & the house value is probably between 0,000-0,000. What will I do, & how will I do it?

2) Can she do the reverse mortgage even my name is still on the mortgage & deed? With no house equity, how can she have reverse mortgage then?

3) What would you suggest as the best thing to do?

Thanks in advance.

Am using Quicken Willmaker Plus 2007 to make my Living Trust. I have all of my cash invested in a Smith Barney account. I want to leave cash to a number of individuals. I would like my Trust to just say, "and to Joe Blow, I leave X thousands of dollars." But, in the Quicken software & book I’ve discovered that for every gift to a benificiary I must list a specific bank account OR leave a Bond to him, etc. Is this because this is THE way Trusts are to work and that if I do it any other way, it will just go through probate. My current Trust made out by an attorney just lists in Exhibit A: 1) my house and 2) says and for everything else I own. I have the feeling that my attorney has made it this way in hopes that it WILL have to then go to probate and he will make more money. I want to do this right and do hope someone here can shed some "light" on this that is honest. Who out there in "net land" knows what is the truth here?

The "earned income" attributable to the "excess contributions" I calculated turned out to be a negative number since the "adjusted closing balance" of my Roth IRA went down. Does this mean I can report a loss on my tax return for the negative earnings from the excess contributions that I have to take out to meet the requirements of IRC Section 408?

Many Americans (including myself) cannot afford individual health insurance, even if they could qualify for it, . I’m a member of the "working poor", barely taking home enough money for rent, food, utilites and gas. If I was to get seriously ill or injured, what would happen to my savings? Would I be forced to spend all my retirement savings to pay for my medical bills or what is the drill for a worst-case scenario like this?

people who ask question like " I have a baby will the military give them benefits " or "do i get free housing" and " If i join the military will i get paid for being married". like these people treat the military as if it’s some welfare program. They never mention once that they want to serve for their country. What do you think?

I plan to retire soon and was wondering.
Say your monthly income from retiring as a sergeant in the US Army is (00US) per month and your wife is a Thai "school teacher" and earns 30,000 baht (00US) per month. On your own you don’t earn enough monthly to qualify currently for a retirement visa. Is it pathetic to use your wife’s income to meet the minimum? Are you less of a man if you can’t make it on your own?
Burn Baby Burn ,., You must be confused. Look in the mirror.

I am in the market for a new vehicle and I’m thinking of financing through the dealer in order to get the "best" deal. However, I really don’t intend to stay with them and plan on refinancing through my own bank. My question is: how long do I have to wait until I can refinance, if at all?
