What are good songs to sing at a retirement home?
I’m playing guitar and singing at a local retirement home in late October, but I don’t know what songs I could play that they would like. The only one I have on my list is Walking in Memphis, and I’m doing that for sure. Other than that, I have no clue. I need suggestions please!

How about some old standards from the 30′s, 40′s and 50′s? Google them. They usually are not that complicated.
I play and sing once a month at a local senior citizen home and get the greatest participation when playing old Hymn’s.
By far their favorite song is “In the Garden” it’s easy – just G, C, D, Em, and A. Everybody sings, some cry.
Alan Jackson did a CD of old Hymns; you’ll find him on YouTube. Never heard of “In the Garden” or Alan Jackson until I asked the residents what songs they wanted to hear and researched the songs.
“What A Friend We Have in Jesus” is very, very easy – just D, G and A7.
“The Old Rugged Cross” not too difficult just A, D, & E.
Might get group participation with old folk songs ~ Kum Ba Ya (G, C & D7), or This Land is Your Land ( G, D, A7, D & D7) .
I play for an hour, so have lot’s more songs.
Good Luck and Have Fun!
