"Boss, I need a raise, or else.

Just be yourself and tell what comes out of you naturally, honesty is the best policy, so go with that, it usually pays off…and one more thing dont be hesitant while asking or be scared it will only give him power over you, just act natural and without fear, good luck.
Highlight all your good points (arriving on time, accountability, work well with others, expert at your job, all the projects you work on). tell him what you contribute and that you want to contribute more and that you were told you would get a raise so you just wanted to check up on that.

Make an appointment with your boss.
Have reasons why you should get a raise. Point out things you have done over and beyond the call of duty.
Schedule a time to meet with him (don’t pop in unannounced) and discuss your job performance and progress. Get his input first. If he says you can do your job without guidance, THEN remind him about the promise and ask him what amount of raise will be forthcoming.

Try catching him in a good mood. Or wait untill someone else brings it up. OR have some one stage a conversation about it in front of him.
yeh! tell him to get his shit together and give you more money, or you will tell his wife!! about his affairs and the mony laundering he is doing!
tell him you’ll contact his wife and tell her he’s been screwing his secretary if he doesn’t.
Do it in writing via email. Take your time and compose a professional letter explaining that you are meeting the job specifications and that you were advised you would be receiving a pay increase if you met certain expectations.
Write down a few things that you are doing well. Add the fact they told you you would get a raise when you could work unsupervised. Pick the top two or three examples on your list and go talk to him. Leave the paper at your desk though.

Dont mention anything about ‘needing’ more money, he wont care. Come up with a list of things that you do exceptionally well, and a list of ways that you contribute to the company. Tell him that you have worked very hard for him, his firm, and you feel as though you are more valuable to the company than your paycheck reflects. Be very political about it, and if he says no, or that he will think about it, tell him thanks, and move on, and work extra diligently. It sometimes takes a while for things like this to be set into motion, and if you prove your a hard worker – particularly if he says no – he will remember it.
Make it a point of what you were told when you started. Have you missed any days? if not, you are reliable. highlight all of your good points and stress that you are a valuable asset to the company.tell him you feel you are worth more money because you perform your job efficiently.
Well after only 5 months you really don’t have much room to be asking for a raise. Minimum time to let pass is usually 6 months to 1 year before a raise is given. But, if you feel you deserve it there is no harm in asking…just bring up how efficiently you do your work, meet deadlines, cooperate with other employees, etc…If he says ‘no’, then ask him what he feels you need to improve on and work on that, as well as continuing to work hard, and you should be good to get that year raise. Good luck!!
On Friday before you leave go to his office and say
" Hey, have a wonderful weekend while you review my position for a raise that I was promissed!"
just get him drunk first !!
