why is a higher capital gains tax good for the economy?
I’m not rich but I dabble in the stock market, So why should I have to pay higher capital gains tax if I invest in a sound company that knows how to make money? isn’t this like killing capitalism?

It isn’t. NO city, state or country has ever taxed it’s way to prosperity. It just doesn’t happen. The higher the taxes, the poorer the country. FACT.

finally you got it right, Obama is socialists, and capitalism is socialism number 1 enemy , gee what do you think hes doing? saving the economy? hell no
he wants to ENSLAVE Americans to do his bidding, and those Obama supports who think I’m just a pissed off republican, wait 5 more months, lets see what condition we are in then, after 4 years you’ll be worshiping your new fuhrer
Why invest if you get taxed more on profits, but receive no sort of credit on losses.
Lose/Lose situation.
That’s why they lowered the Capitol Gains tax so much. Which actually INCREASED revenue to taxes because there was more of a reason to invest.
Stock market is already a gamble, but when you end up paying more "Juice" on your profits, its less feasible
The effective tax rate includes corporate income taxes, sales taxes on capital purchases and other capital-related taxes. Higher effective rates discourage businesses from making capital investments in new machines, structures, land or inventory.
Simply put, the additional burden of having to pay a high effective tax rate lowers an investment’s risk-return to the point where many executives say "Why bother?" and look for investments with higher returns – often in foreign countries.
No…it’s paying one’s fair share of the tax burden…aka….Progressive taxation…
Perhaps, you prefer to do it the "British" or "Euro" way? That is massive VAT taxes…on everything you buy.
The American progressive taxation process is fair…you make more, you pay more in taxes…to whom much is given, much is required…(and believe me, playing the stock market is like playing darts…pin the stock pages to the wall and throw a dart at it.)…That’s called gambling.
